Magnetism is one of the basic properties of matter. The magnetic field is associated with the movement of various forms of electric charge. Due to the movement of electrons inside the material (the trajectory of which will change under the influence of an external magnetic field) and spin, a certain size of magnetic moment will be generated, thus generating a magnetic field. All materials are magnetic.
Substances in nature can be divided into paramagnetic substances; diamagnetic substances; antiferromagnetic substances; and ferrimagnetic substances according to their different magnetic properties. Among them, ferromagnetic substances and ferrimagnetic substances are strongly magnetic substances, and these two types of substances are usually collectively referred to as "magnetic materials".
Magnetic materials can be divided into two categories: metal magnetic materials and ferrite magnetic materials. They have various forms such as polycrystalline, single crystalline, thin film and amorphous state. Generally classified according to their magnetic properties and applications, they can be divided into various magnetic materials such as soft magnetic, permanent magnet, magnetic recording, moment magnet, gyromagnetic, piezomagnetic, magneto-optical, and magnetic sensitive.
1. Ferrite magnetic materials: generally refer to oxides made of iron oxide and other metal oxides.
2. Ferromagnetic materials: refers to materials with ferromagnetic properties, such as iron, nickel, cobalt and their alloys, alloys and compounds of certain rare earth elements.
